FORS Accreditation Help

To quote FORS themselves

‘The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is a voluntary accreditation scheme for fleet operators which aims to raise the level of quality within fleet operations, and to demonstrate which operators are achieving exemplary levels of best practice in safety, efficiency, and environmental protection’.

and in large it has done just that.

So FORS claims, it will make your fleet safer, smarter, and greener. FORS is has been managed by AECOM since 2015, who oversee the growth of the scheme, the development of member benefits and provide member support services including the FORS Helpline.

AECOM has driven the expansion of the FORS scheme outside of the London-centric impression many had of the scheme in the early days. FORS is now the UK’s voluntary accreditation of choice for fleet operators with approximately 5,000 member organisations in the UK.

You may now find that your clients have written in their procurement contracts that FORS is a requirement to supply to them, this is the influence of AECOM on the scheme. FORS also works closely with national projects across the UK, with the likes of Thames Tideway, HS2, and has partnerships with several local authorities who operate their own vehicle fleets whether operated in-house or run by a contractor.

If you want a free no obligation chat about FORS, the pros and cons and exploring the potential benefits of becoming a FORS member, then feel free to give Safety Hands Plus a call. We are not affiliated with FORS or AECOM and we do not receive any commission from either body. Any views expressed or information given is solely from our experience of working within the scheme as an end user and establishing systems and processes to help organisations deal with the FORS scheme requirements in a clear and concise way.

Safety Hands Plus has supported many organisations achieve FORS for the first time, supported organisations go through the different levels from Bronze through to Gold, We have also been proud to help some organisations become the first in their sectors to achieve FORS Gold which is a big advantage to them in tendering opportunities for the bigger infrastructure projects like HS2.
