Support with SSip Accreditation
Business to business tendering / operations is a space filled with systems of verifying the applicant, i.e. you. If you are a business that supplies other businesses then you’ve probably seen the the logo opposite – Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP) or one of the verification systems that operate under the SSiP banner.

There is an ever growing number of assessments and accreditation schemes, that all present themselves when you are tendering and pre-qualifying for work. SSiP’s purpose is to provide a standard for assessment schemes to try and establish common standards between them, and those schemes that become members of SSIP all share a degree of mutual recognition of each others schemes.
Schemes like, Acclaim, Achilles, Altius, Avetta, CHAS, Constructionline, Exor, Greenlight, Safecontractor, or SMAS are some of the more common ones you may know.
You may have had a client asking you for your CHAS accreditation, and another asking for SMAS which is very frustrating, time and resource draining. The Common Assessment Standard (CAS) was introduced by Build UK and the Civil Engineering Contractors’ Association (CECA) with the aim of reducing inefficiencies that cost industry up to £1 billion a year. The CAS is an assessment to an industry-agreed question set based on existing Pre-Qualification questionnaires, including PAS 91, and its corresponding assessment standards. CAS sole aim is to reduce duplication, time, and costs. CAS is recognised by Achilles, CHAS, and Constructionline.
Sadly, Safety Hands Plus still have clients who have been requested to register with a specific SSiP Scheme such as Achilles or CHAS. The positive with SSiP and CAS is if you have a valid certificate from another SSiP Scheme, then most SSiP members will no longer require you to go through the whole assessment again. The assessment is a much more simplified process, document submission requirements are less, and costs are reduced, you can simply apply with your current SSiP certificate and follow the simpler process for application.
Safety Hands Plus will work with you and can manage the whole SSiP application process until full completion. If you are a first time applicant without anything in place, you are considering a renewal, or you wish to transfer or gain additional accreditations. Safety Hands Plus has significant experience in successfully applying for all SSiP accreditations so we can take out all the strain of attaining and renewing these business critical accreditations for you.
